About Faye
I am a guitar tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching both in-person and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance, focusing on Contemporary Styles. My lessons are designed to inspire creativity while strengthening technical and musical skills. I enjoy helping students explore compositional techniques and arranging for guitar, guiding them in developing their own original music.
My teaching philosophy centres on adapting lessons to each student’s goals. We work on harmonic concepts, melodic invention, counterpoint, and creating engaging arrangements. I also guide students in recording basic demos to bring their ideas to life. Whether you are a beginner just starting out or an advanced player refining your skills, I tailor every session to your level and aspirations.
I have supported students ranging from beginner to advanced levels, as well as professional and expert composers aiming to expand their creative voice. My approach combines structured learning with creative experimentation, making the process enjoyable and rewarding. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong rhythmic foundation for every student. I emphasise rhythm guitar techniques, strumming patterns, picking dynamics, and groove development across multiple genres. We explore chord transitions, muting techniques, syncopation, and timing exercises to make your playing tight and expressive.
Lessons are designed to suit your style, whether you enjoy fingerstyle arrangements or leading worship music. I provide clear, step-by-step guidance and consistent feedback to help you master timing, feel, and expression. We work on both technical skills and musical intuition so you can play confidently in any setting.
Students leave lessons able to lock into grooves, enhance their strumming precision, and improve their dynamic control. You’ll gain practical tools to bring life to your rhythm parts. With patience and structured practice, you’ll develop both accuracy and musicality. Every session is focused on helping you excel and enjoy playing.
