About Matt
I am an experienced Session Musician & Songwriter who has been playing actively for the last 10 years throughout the industry. Throughout the years I have been lucky enough to share the stage with Mallory Knox, Bellevue Days, Big Spring just to mention a few. I have been in projects featured on Kerrang, Discovered Magazine, BBC Introducing, Dead Press and many more. My passion for music is second to none. It’s all I love doing and working with new people on new projects gives me so much joy, whether that be playing live, recording music or writing music.
I have high industry-standard gear within my home studio so that I can have everything here to be able to help teach new students. I know what it's like to start learning a new instrument. I will tailor myself and my skills to make the experience not only enjoyable but comfortable and concise so that learning the guitar is something you love!

I tailor learning to each student. Learning the Guitar should be fun and cathartic. So I mould my lessons and learning to each individual, finding out what style they want to play, who they want to sound like and their preferred way of learning. My lessons are a relaxed environment to encourage learning of each individual, yet are professional and concise.
Lessons times can vary from 1 hour to 2 hours depending on the individual and their preferred length of the lesson.
I have a BA Hons Degree in Popular Music and Record Production an A* in Music Technology & Performance at A-Level. I'm also an active musician myself, having over 10 years of Touring, writing, performance and compositional experience within the industry. Throughout the years I have been lucky enough to share the stage with Mallory Knox, Bellevue Days, Big Spring just to mention a few. I have been in projects featured on Kerrang, Discovered Magazine, BBC Introducing, Dead Press and many more. I also have a current in date certification of my DBS check.
My lessons are aimed at beginners primarily but also for anyone who is looking to further their skills as a guitarist.
All ages & abilities are welcomed.

Matts been tutoring me for around 5 weeks now, and honestly I couldn’t recommend him higher. If you want to learn guitar go with him! Everything he was teaching me he would explain in detail and how it would benefit my playing as I developed. 5/5 for Matt!
started getting lessons from matt about 2 months ago now have seen such improvement in my playing. Was a bedroom guitarist for a while but matt taught me some of the more complex parts of playing and helped me get in contact with some other musicians to start a band, would recommend 10/10 to anyone learning guitar

Matt came and taught me and my daughter guitar as its something we wanted to do together. He came round to ours explained about himself and what he does (which was so interesting!) and he made the lessons really fun and it was enough for both me and my daughter to be able to learn together. Matt has been giving my son lessons for the last 10 months over zoom and in person (when possible) and he was so lovely and professional. My son loves Green Day and wanted to learn their songs so alongside learning the beginners steps he taught those skills alongside Green Day music so that it made the lessons the highlight of his week!
