About Carl
I find teaching art and design just as rewarding as creating my own work and get real satisfaction seeing a student progress from the basics to becoming an accomplished artist or designer.
I am a qualified Graphic Designer and Illustrator, with many years of experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I have taught many students and members of staff in work environments - as well as in the clients' homes - helping them to progress and achieve their goals or just enjoy a mindful, rewarding artistic pastime.
I now focus exclusively on Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer as excellent, viable alternatives to the Adobe suite.
I now also teach online via Teams and find this especially suitable when teaching Adobe products and digital illustration.

I create tailor-made, structured yet enjoyable lessons that help the student progress and learn, working at the student's pace and mindful of their needs and ability level.
This may be a particular graphic program, art media they would like to try, an introduction into art or a specific project in a work environment that needs a bit of guidance to get started.
I can work with everyone from complete beginners to degree level students and professionals and base the lessons on fun, practical exercises and additional projects to top-up the one-to-one training time.

Details
My rates are £30/hour for a single student and include private, non-commercial clients.
I can work to half hour rates so if you book 2 hours but then wish to have a little longer, I can charge by the half-hour (i.e. £15/thirty minutes).
Art students will be provided with a small list of materials required to complete the course so they can buy them from their chosen supplier or I can suggest one.
Commercial clients (businesses, sole traders etc.) are charged at £50/hour per student/operator. These can also include half-hour charging if required (£25/thirty minutes).
All Adobe students must have a pc or Mac with the relevant Adobe product licensed and downloaded. For pricing for multiple private students, please contact me. Teaching in person is free up to 12 miles from Sandbach, Cheshire.
