About Stefanie
Hi, I’m Steff! I’m an experienced teacher based in Germany, with more than 12 years of teaching experience.
I’ve worked with students from many different countries, age groups and educational backgrounds, and teaching in an international environment has been a big part of my life for many years.
Languages are also part of my everyday life. I regularly speak German, English and Spanish, so I know from my own experience that learning a language is about much more than understanding grammar rules – at some point, you have to actually use it!
My teaching style is relaxed, practical and usually comes with a fair bit of humor. I want my students to feel comfortable speaking, asking questions and, most importantly, making mistakes. You don’t need perfect German to have a conversation – that’s what we’re here to practice.
Because I live and teach in Germany, I can also give you an insight into the German people actually use in everyday life, as well as the language you need for school and exams.
So bring your German, your questions and maybe a cup of tea or coffee – we’ll take it from there.

My lessons are practical, relaxed and focused on actually using German – not just learning endless grammar rules from a book.
We can work on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing and exam preparation, depending on what you need. If speaking German makes you nervous, don't worry – making mistakes is part of learning, and we'll work on building your confidence step by step.
For school students, I can support you with the German you're learning in class, help you understand difficult grammar and prepare for tests and exams. We can also practice speaking and oral exam situations so that you become more comfortable answering spontaneously instead of simply memorizing sentences.
Every student is different, so I adapt the lessons to your level, goals and learning style. Sometimes we work seriously on grammar, sometimes we have a conversation about life in Germany – and sometimes we have a laugh while trying to figure out why German has decided that a table should be masculine.
Most importantly, I want you to leave the lesson feeling that German is becoming a little easier – and hopefully have some good craic along the way!

Stefanie (Steff) is an absolute marvel! She is always patient with all the questions my son has, and her lessons are always engaging and creative. I love the characters and stories she uses for his learning. I am particularly grateful for Steff's support with my son's listening and speaking skills. I have seen his confidence grow and I know he is less afraid of taking his final exams now!
