About Aggie
I'm passionate about developing students skills through coaching their self-confidence, enthusiasm and engagement with the subject taught. I believe that it's a key to students academic improvement.
I have been trained in non-formal educational methods whilst working abroad as live skills and English tutor in Tanzania (3 month placement). It's a teaching style focused on involving the students as much as possible making them actually learn, remember and be able to critically evaluate the material rather than just being talked at.
From this point I went on to teach for 2 months in Bali and continued tutoring for over a year since coming back to UK. I have learned huge adaptability - having worked with huge (up to 120 students), classes of mixed English ability level, working with small kids (as young as 4) and working with students with learning difficulties (ADHD short-term memory problems).
My main subject is English Literature however I'm confident covering all the core subjects up to the GCSE level. I usually advice parents who want their children tutored in more than one subject to pick one focus area and then add on subjects as the time goes on.
I do discounted rates for siblings/small groups that can be taught on the same or very close level.
