About Katy
I am a confident, warm, and highly approachable tutor with a degree in Drama and Performance; my background as a professional actor and performer has meant I have a capacity for versatility, communication and high level interpersonal skills. It has also endowed me with a flair for creativity and I am able to effectively channel this creativity through my teaching work. I am also passionate about languages, having studied Italian, Spanish and English Literature at A-level. My mum's family is Italian which I meant I learnt some Italian while growing up and feel very much immersed in the Italian culture. I have worked, taught and travelled internationally.
I'm an experienced private tutor who has been teaching Italian, Spanish and English for 2 years. I have also taught English as a foreign language internationally in large classroom environments in Mexico.
Above all I think it's really important that the pupil feels comfortable, relaxed and at ease with their tutor and their learning environment. I like to find out as much as possible beforehand about the student's personal needs and preferred methods of study. Every pupil is different and learns in different ways. I tailor my teaching to each individual so that they get the best possible experience out of our sessions.
