About Mae
I’ve spent several years teaching French to learners across different ages and backgrounds, helping them find confidence and joy in language learning. My teaching style blends structure with creativity, encouraging progress through curiosity and cultural connection. I approach every lesson as a partnership, ensuring that each student’s goals — whether academic, professional, or personal — are understood and met through tailored instruction. Seeing learners grow from hesitant speakers to confident communicators is what motivates my passion for teaching. Outside teaching, I stay immersed in francophone culture through reading, travel, and conversation with native speakers. This ongoing connection ensures my lessons are filled with authenticity, warmth, and a real sense of the living language.

My French lessons focus on practical communication and cultural depth, helping students experience the language as it is truly spoken and lived. I emphasize conversation, listening comprehension, pronunciation, and context-driven grammar so that learners develop natural fluency along with an understanding of nuance, tone, and expression.
Beginners build essential vocabulary, everyday dialogue skills, and pronunciation through interactive exercises and visual learning tools. Intermediate students expand their comprehension, sentence structures, and idiomatic usage through stories, songs, and authentic French media. Advanced learners engage with literature, debates, and written expression to refine accuracy, fluency, and confidence in complex communication.
I integrate French culture into every lesson, including music, films, traditions, and humor, to make learning engaging and meaningful. My goal is for students not only to speak French, but to think in it—developing both linguistic fluency and a deep appreciation for the rhythm and beauty of the language.
