About Mara
Hi! I understand exactly how it feels to learn a new language. Through my experiences traveling and studying a new language, I've learned that the best way to learn is through real connection, not just memorizing rules from a book. I love being a supportive voice for my students because I know that making mistakes is just part of the process. In our lessons, we will focus on the kind of English you actually need for daily life, like chatting at a cafe or traveling to a new city. I am a big fan of hiking, journaling, and horror movies, so I am always down to chat about our hobbies while we work on your vocabulary and pronunciation. I can’t wait to help you feel more confident in your conversations!

As a foreign language major, I have been in your shoes and understand the hurdles of learning a new language. My approach is practical and focused on real-world conversations that you would actually have at a cafe or while traveling. A typical lesson begins with a relaxed warm-up to build your confidence, followed by targeted activities to sharpen your vocabulary and fine-tune your pronunciation. What sets me apart is my personal experience; I spent two years studying in South Korea and have also visited Japan and Thailand. Having navigated these different cultures, I can offer genuine empathy and support to my students. These lessons are perfect for intermediate learners, casual speakers, or students preparing to study abroad. Whether you want to improve your fluency or just practice natural speaking, I provide a supportive and engaging environment.
