About Polly
My name is Polly and I'm an experienced English tutor and Cambridge English literature graduate, and investigative journalism postgrad. I've taught English literature and language up to AS level for a handful of students with extremely positive feedback. In my own GCSEs and A levels I earned full marks across all of my papers, and after I graduated from Cambridge with a 2:1 in English, I started tutoring while working as a journalist. I tailor the lessons to my students' needs, bringing with me a detailed understanding of how to master a syllabus to achieve top results, as well as a dedication to ensuring my students engage with the content and learn to love studying English as much as I do. In order to achieve this, I combine working towards the exam with enjoyable language games or exercises, or thoughtful discussions about selected texts, depending on the student's age and whether or not they are working towards a specific exam, or need their skills developing more generally. I have known Polly for a long time and have been a close friend throughout her student days at Cambridge University where she did English. I have read most of her essays in which she invariably took an original and creative approach to whatever subject she was given. She writes lucid prose and has a logical approach to solving problems.
