I have a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their goals, whether it's mastering English for academic success or building confidence in communication. My approach to teaching English is rooted in the individual needs of my student and active engagement, ensuring that each lesson is tailored to the student's needs and learning style. I will begin with an initial assessment and goal-setting session where I evaluate the student's current skill level through diagnostic tests, conversation, and writing samples. This helps identify their strengths, gaps in knowledge, and specific learning goals. From this, I create a personalised learning plan that targets areas for improvement and sets clear objectives.
During each lesson, I make use live modelling to demonstrate concepts and skills in real-time, whether it's grammar rules, writing structures, or speaking techniques. By showing how to approach tasks step-by-step, students can observe the process and gain a deeper understanding of how to apply these concepts themselves. This is followed by interactive learning activities where students practice what they've just learned, whether through speaking exercises, writing tasks, or reading comprehension. The focus is on applying the knowledge in a practical setting, ensuring immediate engagement with the material.
Throughout the session, I provide live feedback to correct errors and address any misconceptions as they arise. This real-time feedback allows students to adjust their approach instantly, preventing misconceptions from solidifying and fostering quicker improvement. In addition, I assign personalised tasks designed to address specific gaps in the student's knowledge or misconceptions identified during lessons. These tasks might include targeted writing prompts, grammar exercises, or reading assignments tailored to their needs, ensuring they are focusing on areas requiring the most attention.
Finally, I continuously monitor progress through regular evaluations, such as quizzes or writing exercises, and adjust the lesson plans as needed. This ongoing evaluation ensures that the learning plan remains dynamic, evolving with the student's progress, and that we are always working toward their goals.
