About Yara
About me: - Has an MEd (TESL) - Previously served as a lecturer at 2 universities (UiTM & UNIMAS) - Currently working as an English teacher at an international language center As someone who has taught at the tertiary level and is now working at a language center that tackles students with different levels of proficiency, I believe that I am well prepared to cater to all types of learning and pedagogical issues. I'm a very high achiever and I always try to influence my students to be the same. I also believe that learning is a two-way street and will constantly make sure that my lessons are engaging so that the tutoring sessions will be more meaningful. In terms of flexibility, I am free from 8 pm - 12 am on weekdays and 8 am - 10 pm on weekends. For areas outside of Seri Kembangan, I am absolutely open to taking up online sessions as I have had prior experience conducting blended learning.

In order to help my students grasp specific topics better, I utilize the communicative (CLT) approach, where I focus on improving my students' understanding at the same time honing their communication skills. This is done by using actual interactions and constantly encouraging the students to voice out their opinions and answers.
My areas of specialization include:
- Reading (Passages, Articles, Literature novels, Context clues, Making inferences and conclusion, etc)
- Writing (Reports, Essays, Stories, Complex Sentences)
- Speaking (Oral tests, Presentations)
- Listening (Basic listening practice)
My lessons are catered to:
- Elementary school students (Year 4 -6)
- High school students (Form 1 - Form 5)
