About Andrew
I am the son of teachers, and love teaching English and making it fun to learn! My Dad was an English teacher in schools. As an Anglican Priest I love communicating and helping others to communicate well. I also love language in general, and speak good Italian, OK Spanish, and decent French. I also enjoy meeting people and helping people fulfil their potential and grow in confidence! I look forward to meeting you!

I am friendly and encouraging, but very rigorous as a teacher. My students have all loved me, especially for my clear spoken British English and excellent grammar. I can help you to focus on grammar and communication, as well as 'real British English' to help you sound as natural as possible. I am very happy to focus on British English pronunciation, using phonetics to help if you would like me to.
I use a communicative, student-centred approach, focusing on real-world use, fluency, and accuracy. Lessons start with where you are: I have lots of experience from beginners to advanced learners.
I blend targeted practice, authentic materials, and immediate feedback to build confidence and master advanced grammar, vocabulary, and professional communication. Each session is 60 minutes, balanced between learning, practice, and review.
I hold a full TEFL qualification (RSA/Cambridge CELTA) and have extensive experience teaching advanced, business, and exam English. My lessons are designed for adult learners, including professionals, university students, and I am happy to teach children accompanied by a parent or guardian visible in the online space. I am an Anglican priest with Theology degrees from the University of Cambridge and Canterbury Christchurch University, happy to teach religious language and theological English. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Birmingham, and am happy to teach musical language.
I hold an Enhanced DBS check (England), originally obtained for my professional ministry work. This is the highest level of safeguarding certification available in the UK, and it is fully valid and accepted for tutoring. All lessons with young learners are conducted online and always accompanied by a parent or guardian, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supervised learning environment at all times.
