About Sivasankaranarayanan
Hi, I’m a professional engineer with over 8 years of experience in engineering and a strong background in Maths, Physics, Thermodynamics and STEM.
I enjoy teaching because I like breaking down difficult ideas into simple, understandable steps. I believe students learn best when they understand why something works, rather than simply memorising formulae.
My engineering career has given me the opportunity to use mathematics and physics to solve real-world problems, and I enjoy showing students how the subjects they study connect to the world around them.
I want to teach because I find it rewarding to see someone go from “I don't understand this” to “I can do this myself.” My aim is to build not only knowledge, but also confidence and problem-solving skills.
Whether you're struggling with a particular topic, need help with problems and homework, or simply want to strengthen your understanding, I’ll adapt my lessons to your level and learning goals.
I offer a friendly, patient and supportive learning environment where questions are always welcome.

My approach is based on understanding concepts from first principles and then applying them to progressively more challenging problems. Rather than simply memorising formulae, I focus on helping students understand why something works, how to approach unfamiliar problems, and how to check whether their answers make sense.
I can help with:
Mathematics
Physics
Thermodynamics
Engineering fundamentals
STEM subjects
Problem solving
Homework and coursework support
Building confidence with difficult topics
I have 8+ years of professional engineering experience, allowing me to connect the mathematics and physics students learn with real-world engineering applications. I believe this practical perspective can make challenging or abstract topics easier to understand and more engaging.
My lessons are tailored to each student's current level, learning style and goals. Whether you are struggling with a particular concept, want help working through problems, or simply want to strengthen your understanding, I will work through the topic step-by-step at a pace that suits you.
I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while learning.
Lessons are available online, with flexible evening and weekend availability.
If you want to understand the subject rather than simply memorise it, I'd be happy to help you build that understanding and confidence.
