Lucy is an incredibly caring, compassionate and positive teacher. She has a passion for teaching and helping students to remove any barriers they face in order to support them in achieving their potential. Her knowledge of exam boards, English literature and language as well as post 16 English, means she is able to meet the learning requirements of a wide range of students. In addition, through her leadership roles within EAL, she has demonstrated her ability to differentiate, in order to cater for the needs of each and every one of her students, providing engaging lessons which encourage them to share her enjoyment of English.

When employed as a teacher at my school, she often met with students 1:1 to go through their work in detail, ensuring that students understood what was expected of them and what they needed to do. Lucy has strong subject knowledge in English; as the EAL Co-ordinator for WA she is well aware of the need for careful scaffolding for weaker students, and she has strong curriculum knowledge, particularly of GCSE texts.
