About Marlon
I have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa. Over the fourteen years, I have taught various subjects in Elementary such as Araling Panlipunan, MAPEH, HELE, CLE (Christian Living Education/Values Education), Math and Filipino, but mostly I handled Araling Panlipunan and Filipino subjects of Grade 1 to Grade 6. I cater student’s need as I teach the lesson. And I was also assigned to some admin office work during my stay in my previous school.
In these roles, I successfully implemented blended learning strategies using Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Class, and Genyo E-Learning resulting in improved students’ performance and participation.

About My Teaching Approach
As a dedicated tutor for Math and Filipino, my goal is simple: to make difficult subjects feel easy, clear, and enjoyable.
My Teaching Method and Techniques:
I believe every student learns differently, so I do not use one-size-fits-all teaching. For Math, I use a Step-by-Step Visual Method. I break down complex problems into small, easy steps, use real-life examples like money, games, and objects at home, and use drawings and visual aids so the student truly understands the why, not just the how to solve. For Filipino, I use a Storytelling and Conversational Method. I make grammar, panitikan, and comprehension come alive through kwento, everyday Tagalog conversation, reading aloud, and creative writing. I am bilingual, so I can explain in Taglish to make sure no student is left behind.
I focus on mastery, not memorization. I am patient, encouraging, and I always make sure the student can explain the lesson back to me before we move on.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
A 60-minute lesson is structured to be focused but fun:
1. Kamustahan & Review (10 mins): Quick review of the last lesson and homework check. I build confidence by starting with what they already know.
2. Introduction of New Lesson (15 mins): I introduce the new topic with a simple story, example, or problem. For Math, we visualize the problem. For Filipino, we read a short text or example.
3. Guided Practice (20 mins): We solve and answer together. I guide, they do. This is where I use games, flashcards, and interactive activities.
4. Independent Practice & Feedback (10 mins): The student tries on their own, and I give instant, positive correction.
5. Wrap-up & Assignment (5 mins): Summary of what we learned and a small, manageable task for next time.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
What sets me apart is patience and heart. I was once a student who also struggled, so I understand the frustration of not getting it. I do not get angry when a student is slow - I find another way to explain until the light bulb turns on. I teach with values, combining Proverbs 22:6 - training a child not just to pass an exam, but to love learning. I celebrate small wins, and I make sure my students feel safe to make mistakes. For me, it's not just about grades, it's about building confidence.
Who Are My Lessons For:
My lessons are for:
Elementary Students (Kinder to Grade 6) who need a strong foundation in Math and Filipino.
Classes are available Online via Zoom/Google Meet and Face-to-Face for students around Taguig and nearby areas. I offer one-on-one tutorials and small group sessions for siblings or friends.
I teach learners of all levels - from beginners who need to start from the basics to advanced learners who want to maintain high grades.
Let's make learning Math and Filipino something your child will look forward to!
