About Hayleigh
Hi! My name is Miss Burke.
I am a Reception class teacher based in Manchester.
Early years has always been a passion of mine and before I became a teacher, I worked in private nurseries where I cared for and educated babies, toddlers and pre-school children.
I believe that a child’s early life; their experiences, the interactions they have, how they view the world around them has a major impact for the rest of their lives. This is why I wanted to work in early years, to be a positive and nurturing influence, to inspire awe and wonder about the world, to make learning fun and engaging to every child I meet. Most of all, I hope to incite a love of learning in our little children that will stay with them forever.
With that being said, the pressure and demands of our education system can sometimes mean children struggle to keep up or stay engaged in their academic learning. This is why I wanted to start my tutoring journey, to help close those gaps that children may have through no fault of their own, in a fun, child-friendly and engaging way.

As an experienced early years teacher, it is with my detailed understanding of child development and knowledge of how children acquire and master key phonetic and mathematical skills, that I can provide that extra support in order for your child to succeed.
My tutoring sessions are tailored to support children in their final term of Nursery, children in Reception and children in Year 1 who may have not reached the Early Learning Goal assessment in Literacy or Maths at the end of Reception.
Children in Nursery will attend 30 minute online tutoring sessions, with children in Reception and Year 1 attending online tutoring sessions lasting 45 minutes.
Before tutoring can begin, I will assess your child in a fun and engaging way in order to baseline their development and to give me an understanding of what prior knowledge your child already has. This will then be built upon in our weekly tutoring sessions.
