About Julie
My name is Julie Smith. I am a credentialed math teacher with over 30 years of experience. My classroom experience is with secondary students from sixth-grade math up to high school calculus. I have tutored students of all ages. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from UC Davis with a minor in education. My knowledge and expertise allow me to identify the specific needs of each student. I can then create an individualized study plan that helps fill gaps in skills as well as allowing advanced students to deepen and extend their understanding.

My students are successful because of my ability to pinpoint errors in thinking. In my tutoring sessions the student will do the work while I guide and encourage them. This method has allowed my students to gain confidence and success in math.
In order to best serve my students i will create a study plan that reflects the individual needs of each student as well as school topics and requests from the parent and student. I then create a focused plan for each tutoring session.

Perfect! Great teacher
Perfect! Julie was great with my daughter, who has been very frustrated and struggling. She was supportive and encouraging which helped my daughter feel relaxed and more confident. We will definitely use a Julie again!
- Piper has a good handle on algebra skills. She needed help with two sections in her current chapter. She caught on quickly and correctly used the new concepts. I think with a little practice she will be ready for her test Wednesday.Julie's response :
