About Sonia
I am a committed teacher and researcher with over 20 years of experience at leading academic institutions in New Zealand and Asia. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds in areas such as computer sciences, computer networks, digital technologies, and information technology. My approach to teaching blends innovative research with practical applications, fostering a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
I excel in delivering content that not only deepens students' understanding of complex concepts but also prepares them for the evolving demands of the technology industry. My experience spans both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as digital technology for high school students (NCEA-Level 1).

1. Session Structure
Typical Session Length: 45 minutes
Target Audience: High School Students (NCEA-Level 1), Undergraduates, and Graduate Students

Teaching Mode: Synchronous (live sessions) with asynchronous learning materials (videos, articles) provided for revision
2. Interactive Learning with Polls and Quizzes
Use of real-time polls, quizzes, and Q&A sessions to gauge student understanding throughout the lesson. Immediate feedback helps to identify areas that need more clarification.
3. Problem-Based Learning (PBL)
Real-life problems are introduced, and students work individually or in groups to find solutions, applying theoretical knowledge.
NCEA-Level 1: Simplified practical scenarios such as designing basic algorithms and related digital technology exercises.
