About Abhay

Hi! I'm Abhay, a sophomore at Penn State University with a strong passion for helping students succeed in math. I graduated from high school in 2024 with an almost perfect score on the SAT Math section, a 5 on the AP Calculus exam, and a 4.6 weighted GPA. Now, I'm using what I've learned to help others build confidence and clarity in math—just like I did. My tutoring journey began when I started helping classmates and younger students with their homework and test prep. I quickly realized that I not only enjoyed explaining difficult concepts, but also had a knack for breaking them down in a way that actually made sense. As a student myself, I understand the stress of tough problem sets and high-stakes tests. My goal is to make math less overwhelming and more empowering, whether you're preparing for an exam, catching up in class, or trying to strengthen your fundamentals. If you're looking for someone who’s relatable, patient, and genuinely invested in your progress, I’d love to work with you!

As a tutor, I focus on building strong foundational understanding while helping students feel confident and capable in math. I use a student-centered approach, meaning I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning preferences, pace, and goals. Whether you're struggling with the basics or aiming for a perfect SAT Math score, I meet you where you are and help you improve step by step.

My Teaching Method:
I begin each session by connecting with the student—identifying where they’re confident, where they’re stuck, and how they prefer to learn. I use clear explanations, relatable examples, and guided practice to help concepts click. I emphasize understanding over memorization, and I always encourage questions to keep learning interactive and supportive.

A Typical Lesson Plan Includes:
10 min: Homework corrections and quick testing on previously learned material

20 min: Introduction of a new topic with visual explanations and real-world examples

20 min: Assessment and revision—applying the new concept through practice problems, feedback, and discussion

10 min: Wrap-up, goal-setting, and tips for reinforcing the concept between sessions

What Sets Me Apart:
I’m a motivated college student who connects well with students and understands today’s academic challenges

I focus on confidence-building, critical thinking, and long-term understanding—not just quick fixes

I offer personalized support with custom practice problems, learning summaries, and flexible pacing

I keep sessions engaging and interactive, adjusting based on student feedback and progress

Who My Lessons Are For:
Middle school and high school students

Students preparing for the SAT or other standardized tests

Anyone needing help in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, or Calculus

Students looking for both academic improvement and deeper confidence in math

If you’re ready to improve your math skills, feel less stressed, and actually enjoy learning, I’m here to guide you every step of the way!
