About LASKA
I am a professional Civil Engineering tutor and lecturer with a strong academic background and practical industry experience. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering and an Honors degree in Construction Project Management. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Johannesburg, while also advancing my studies in Structural Engineering at Stellenbosch University.
I currently serve as a Lecturer in Engineering Drawing at the University of Johannesburg, where I work closely with students to develop their technical drawing, visualization, and design interpretation skills. I also have prior experience as a tutor, supporting students in Capstone Design and Computer-Aided Drawing.

My approach to private tutoring is structured, practical, and student-centered, with a strong focus on bridging the gap between theory and real-world application. With a background in Civil Engineering and Construction Project Management, combined with experience as both a university tutor and a resident engineer, I bring a unique blend of academic depth and industry insight. I don’t just teach students how to pass—I focus on helping them understand concepts thoroughly and apply them confidently in assignments, exams, and real projects.
My methodology is based on simplifying complex concepts, reinforcing fundamentals, and then building toward advanced application. I typically start by assessing the student’s current level, identifying gaps, and tailoring lessons accordingly. I use practical examples, step-by-step problem-solving, and where relevant, real project scenarios to enhance understanding—especially in subjects like Structural Design, Construction Management, and Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD).
I am proficient in English and can comfortably teach and explain concepts in a clear, professional, and accessible manner. I ensure that my communication is adaptable depending on the student’s level of understanding.
In a typical lesson, students can expect a structured session that includes concept explanation, worked examples, guided practice, and time for questions. I also assist with assignments, exam preparation, and project work such as capstone design. Lessons are interactive rather than one-sided, encouraging students to think critically and engage with the material.
My lessons are primarily aimed at undergraduate students in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and related fields. This includes first-year students who need strong foundational support, as well as senior students who require assistance with complex subjects, design projects, or final-year work.
