About Ashman
With a strong background in both Biology and Chemistry, I have been instructing and tutoring Chemistry since my sophomore year at the University of Delaware. As a recent NC State master's graduate, I am dedicated to making science less intimidating for my students. My experience includes serving as a head teaching assistant for a general chemistry course, teaching 2 classes per semester for three years, and instructing fellow TAs for 2 years. I graduated magna cum laude with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. My goal is to help you grasp the concepts in your classes and boost your confidence to succeed in chemistry. I am patient, adaptable to diverse learning styles, and committed to helping students overcome the challenges of science education. I aim to make chemistry less intimidating by focusing on building a strong foundation of understanding. Through clear explanations and real-life examples, I help students grasp complex concepts and develop confidence in their abilities. I emphasize problem-solving skills and critical thinking, guiding students to approach chemistry with curiosity and a desire to learn. By tailoring explanations to individual learning styles and providing ample practice opportunities, I ensure that students not only succeed in their classes but also develop a genuine interest in the subject. My goal is to alleviate any anxiety related to chemistry and create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification.
