About Hazel
I hold an MSc in Chemistry and have over 7 years of teaching experience, guiding students through both core concepts and advanced applications. My passion lies in making chemistry practical and meaningful, especially in areas that connect science to global needs. Over the years, I have helped learners move beyond formulas and equations to see chemistry as a tool for positive change. A major focus of my work is introducing students to the principles of green chemistry and sustainable synthesis. I emphasize atom economy, catalysis, solvent-free reactions, and waste reduction strategies to show how processes can be efficient and environmentally responsible. By blending theory with practice, I encourage learners to think critically about how every reaction can be improved. This approach not only strengthens their problem-solving skills but also fosters an appreciation for responsible chemical practices. I also guide students to innovate by applying sustainable methods in both academic and practical projects. Together, we explore how chemistry supports cleaner industries, safer products, and healthier ecosystems. My teaching approach in Chemistry is based on building strong concepts through a deep analytical review. I believe every complex topic becomes easier when broken into smaller, clear steps. With structured case studies, I connect theoretical knowledge to real-world examples so that learning is meaningful. This way, students not only memorize but also understand the "why" behind each process.
I cover a wide range of subjects including organic and physical chemistry, biochemistry, macromolecules like proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids, as well as enzyme kinetics and metabolic pathways. By linking chemistry with biology, I help learners see how chemical principles drive life itself. Zoologists and botanists especially benefit, as I guide them to refine their grasp of biological chemistry in a way that supports both their academic growth and professional goals.
In every session, I focus on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I push students to aim higher and achieve excellence, while also making sure they feel confident in their progress. Together, we refine the understanding of life’s chemical processes in a way that makes science both logical and fascinating.
