About Nelyjoy
I am an experienced college instructor with a background in Business and Marketing and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). I have several years of experience teaching business-related subjects to college students, which has helped me develop a patient, practical, and student-centered approach to teaching.
I am also currently pursuing my Doctor in Management (DM) and am in the dissertation stage of my program. My continued academic journey allows me to stay engaged with current business concepts, research, and professional practices while bringing these insights into my teaching.
I believe that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable asking questions and can connect lessons to real-life situations. I strive to explain concepts clearly, simplify challenging topics, and adapt my teaching approach to each student’s level, needs, and learning goals.

My Teaching Approach
I use a student-centered and practical approach. Rather than simply giving information, I encourage students to understand the “why” behind each concept. I use clear explanations, real-life business examples, guided exercises, discussions, and practice activities to help learners apply what they have learned.
For Accounting, I can help students understand fundamental accounting concepts, terminology, principles, problem-solving techniques, and basic accounting processes. I break down complicated topics into manageable steps and provide guided practice until the student becomes more comfortable solving problems independently.
For Business English, I focus on developing practical communication skills that students can use in academic and professional settings. Lessons may include business vocabulary, grammar, writing, presentations, professional communication, and workplace conversations.
A Typical Lesson
Each lesson is adjusted according to the learner’s level and goals. Generally, we begin with a short review or discussion of what the student already knows. I then introduce the lesson objective and explain the new concept using simple examples. Afterward, we work through exercises or practical activities together before allowing the student to apply the concept independently.
I also provide feedback throughout the lesson and identify areas that need additional practice. The goal is not simply to finish a lesson, but to make sure you understand the concept and feel confident using it.

What I bring to tutoring is actual classroom experience combined with a business education background.
