About Samuel
Hi! I'm Samuel, I'm in my third year of medical school at Newcastle University. I received all four interviews for medical school and converted this into four offers, allowing me to pursue medicine at my top choice university. I scored a merit (top 10% of my cohort) in my medical school exams. I specialise in tutoring Biology AQA, having achieved a grade 9 at GCSE and an A* at A-level. My success here has given me confidence in my strategies and approach to the exams, and I am deeply committed to tutoring and passing on these tips and tricks and exam techniques. I have extensive tutoring experience, having taught GCSE and A-level students. My students have gone on to achieve the grades they were aiming for, leaving me confident in my lesson structure. If you're looking for expert guidance on how to excel in your exams, from someone who's been through the process recently and achieved top grades, I would love to work with you to help achieve your goals!

Typically lessons last either one hour or two hours and are done once a week. Lesson Plan: • First lesson is FREE - I like to use the first lesson to get to know each other and find out exactly what you are looking to get out of the lessons so I can tailor my teaching approach, and so we can come up with a plan together for the future lessons. • Pre-lesson planning - Outlining what topics we would like to go through before the session in order to maximise the amount of time we have together. • Lessons - I use a variety of teaching methods in the lessons. I like to explain and talk through the difficult concepts, giving advice on how to approach the questions in an efficient way to build a foundation of the knowledge. I then like to talk through some questions together to ensure you have understood them, before getting you to put the learning into action and try exam style questions. I like to put a lot of emphasis on exam style questions and past papers as I believe these offer the best practice to prepare you for your exams. Homework - To ensure maximum understanding I find it is beneficial to set some questions for you to take away and work on, that we can then mark and talk through at the start of the following session.

Perfect! Samuel has been encouraging, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I fully grasp the topics. Samuel provided helpful practice resources and constructive feedback, which helped me improve my understanding of applying my knowledge to exam papers.
I would highly recommend this tutor to anyone looking for reliable, effective, and supportive guidance.- Tye has been a great student to work with, his knowledge of the topics is impressive. We have spent a lot of our time refining exam technique, by going through past papers together.Samuel's response :

Hardworking, dedicated individual with an amazing track record of results
Samuel is an excellent tutor. He is kind, understanding and engaging, a rare gem!!!
Samuel is an amazing tutor who helped me score a band 1 in the UCAT! He’s really friendly, which made lessons enjoyable and stress-free, just like talking to, and revising with your friend. Not only did he help me pass my A-Level Biology exam, but he also introduced me to using different game-changing revision techniques for my exam prep. I ended up with offers from all four of my chosen universities including my preferred uni. If you want a tutor who’s knowledgeable, approachable, and relatable, then Samuel is the one.
Samuel is an engaging, hardworking and knowledgeable tutor. Samuel tutored and supported me during my UCAT; with his expertise and knowledge I was able to secure a score of 2870 Band 1, and consequently an interview at my first choice medical school.
Samuel is a friendly and charming tutor. We reached out to him to tutor our daughter in GCSE Biology and found him to be very attentive and passionate about tutoring. He helped our daughter to achieve a grade 8 which we were really pleased with. I Would highly recommend him as a tutor to all!students.
