About Ying
Hi, I’m a bilingual tutor doing secondary teaching in Sydney. I have a background in both math and Chinese studies, and I’m passionate about helping students from different cultural and language backgrounds feel more confident in their learning.
As someone who has studied and lived in a bilingual environment, I understand how challenging it can be to learn in a second language. Because of this, I am patient, supportive, and always try to create a comfortable learning space where students feel confident to ask questions and express themselves.
I have experience working with international and bilingual students, supporting them in English, Math and Chinese. I enjoy seeing students gradually gain confidence, improve their skills, and feel more comfortable in their studies.

I take a personalized and supportive approach to tutoring, focusing on building both academic skills and confidence. As a bilingual tutor, I understand the challenges international students face when learning in a second language, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs.
In my lessons, I combine clear explanations with guided practice and interactive activities. For English, I focus on speaking, listening, and academic writing skills. For Math, I break down complex concepts into simple steps to help students fully understand rather than memorize. For Chinese, I support both language development and cultural understanding.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I can adjust the length depending on the student’s goals. I also provide structured lesson plans and optional homework to reinforce learning.
