About Ashley
I am an artist based in Cottenham, Cambridge, having recently relocated here from Sussex. I am available to teach Drawing and painting to children and adults. I aim to teach all the techniques and skills needed to draw accurately and confidently and encourage experimentation with new styles and media. (Painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, technical drawing etc.)
I enjoy teaching and love seeing students gain confidence and watching how their drawing skills rapidly grow. Sessions are fun and tailored to each student. I worked in the film industry for many years and have since left the unsociable hours behind to concentrate on my illustrations and passing on skills to the next generation. I am largely self-taught and know how much longer and more difficult it is to learn without support and others' knowledge. I hope to inspire and encourage budding artists in their quest to improve their skills, whilst always remember to keep it fun.
I have taught children as young as 5, with many being around 9, whilst getting their scholarship portfolios ready. My eldest student so far, just celebrated his 93rd birthday! I enjoy teaching all ages and find it incredibly rewarding.

Perfect! I needed an art tutor for my 92 year old dad. He is good at sketching and likes watercolours, painting still life and landscape. He wants to improve his current skills and maybe try other media. Ashley was great , immediately putting dad at ease and left him very happy with his first session. They started sketching together and agreed that they would work well together. Very impressed with Ashley.
- I am so enjoying teaching Alex’s father Peter. Thank you so much for the lovely review!Ashley's response :

She really showed me some great techniques and took the time to actually make sure that I was able to improve. Thank you so much!
I contacted Ashley to help my niece with her art, she has always loved to draw and wanted to learn more realistic techniques to help develop her skills. It was a great decision. I must say I was really impressed with how patient Ashley was and how my niece has really progressed. Her confidence has grown so much as she learned all these new drawing skills, her artwork has really developed and she is really excited for her school art teachers to see all the new techniques she has learned. It was well worth it, thank you Ashley :)
