About Samantha
I am a practicing visual artist born and raised in San Diego with a passion for both creating and teaching art. I graduated from college last year with a degree in fine arts and have been actively working on my own art practice since. I have experience working with children of all ages and am known for my patience, creativity, and ability to connect with young learners. Whether I'm guiding beginners or helping students refine their skills, I bring enthusiasm, encouragement, and a supportive approach to every lesson.

I use a student-centered approach that encourages creativity, builds confidence, and strengthens technical skills at every level. My lessons are tailored to each student's goals, whether they are just beginning, preparing a portfolio for college, or working on specific techniques.
A typical lesson starts with a short warm-up or sketching exercise, followed by focused instruction in areas such as drawing, painting, color theory, or digital media. We then move into a hands-on project where I offer real-time feedback and encourage exploration. I also include art history and contemporary examples to inspire and expand each student's perspective.
What makes me stand out as a tutor is my ability to connect with different learning styles and make the creative process feel accessible and rewarding. I bring years of experience as both a practicing artist and a dedicated educator, and I am passionate about helping each student discover and develop their unique artistic voice.
My lessons are suitable for students of all ages, including beginners, high school students building portfolios, and adults looking to learn or return to creative expression.
