About Maria
I am a 5th-year medical student at University College London (UCL). In 2022, I gained a first-class honours degree in Immunology, Infection and Cell Pathology at UCL. I was additionally awarded the David Katz Project Presentation Prize for my Neuroscience research project at the Francis Crick Institute. I have attended seven schools in four countries (Munich, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Tokyo, St Andrews), which gave me a wealth of experience with different educational systems. Prior to starting university, I worked for two years as a laboratory intern in one of the world-leading virology laboratories at the University of St Andrews, focusing on novel vaccines and antiviral treatments. I am bilingual (English and Russian), and also fluent in Japanese. I am a qualified Japanese-English translator and have worked as an online translator for many years. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and had been a first-team captain of both the UCL medical women's team and the London inter-university teams.

I am truly passionate about teaching and have experience tutoring students of all ages and abilities. I am particularly skilled at helping students with maths and science (biology, chemistry and physics) concepts. Additionally, I have a wealth of experience with the medical school application process, with both BMAT and UCAT tests, having been accepted to multiple medical schools myself. I am also familiar with the different types of interviews that medical schools use, and I can help prepare for interviews. If you are looking for a highly qualified and experienced tutor who can help you achieve your academic goals, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Maria was such a wonderful teacher, she really helped me to prepare for my medicine interview. She is kind, clever and incredibly thoughtful. I felt really supported by her, and she made me feel confident going in to my interview! I can fully reccomend her to any potential students, I really enjoyed my lessons with her.
Maria is an excellent tutor who has tutored our daughter through her GCSE sciences and her medical school interviews (into St Andrews medical school).
She has great enthusiasm and is a good tutor. Am delighted to write a reference to recommend her to future tutees.
I have taught Maria during her time as a medical student at University College London Medical School. She has also been doing a research project with me. I have found her to be hard-working, reliable and motivated.
