About Priya
My previous students have mentioned my approach to teaching makes it enjoyable as I am considered encouraging and very approachable.
My lesson plans are divided into two after an initial assesment lesson: Long term goal ( to help students achieve their target with a set number of lessons ) and Short term goal ( what I intend to achieve by the end of that lesson). Sharing this with the student supplies them with the motivation to attain a set goal. Depending on the student's ability my lessons usually concise of focusing on pertinent topics and revision of past year papers tactically to build confidence in an exam situation. I am happy to tailor my teaching methodologies to match individual student's learning styles to enable them to achieve a deeper understanding of their subjects.
I am knowledgeable of the curriculum and exam boards and teach students with such requirements in mind. Being a tutor for several years has granted me the ability to recognise students' strong sides along with ones that need a little more brushing up on ( Generally I avoid calling those areas problematic or weaker as I like to instil a positive environment for my students). Alongside equipping the students to be confident in their subjects, I also like to provide them with insights and tips on how to perform well during examinations under time pressure.
