Hello! My name is Nicole, and I am a freelance private tutor. I graduated Valedictorian of my high school class, and then went on to study Finance, International Business, and Japanese at Georgetown University, graduating magna cum laude. After this, I spent two years in Japan as a government Monbusho scholar teaching ESL at Sophia University (Jochi Daigaku). I absolutely loved Japan. Upon arriving back in the states, I was an investment banker at JPMorgan for 3 years before leaving to start my own food business. 13 years later, my business is bicoastal in New York and Orange County, and I mentor new and growing food businesses. Throughout all of this time, I have maintained a small and selective tutoring business because I enjoyed it so much. I am well versed in most AP classes, college liberal arts classes and business classes. I have helped many students achieve their dreams of attending an upper tier university.
After 13 years, I am stepping back from the day to day operations of my business to focus on what I love: education. I am in the process of obtaining my Masters degree at the Pepperdine University school of Education and Psychology. I hope to find some enthusiastic tutoring clients that I can help in many ways!
I not only have a degree in Business from Georgetown University, I have been running my business as CFO for 13 years. It has reached $4mil in gross revenues. I run a tight ship, based upon quantitative and qualitative analysis.
I have much experience working as an English as a Second Language private tutor both in Japan and the United States. I’ve kept it up as a small selective side business because I like it so much!
I don’t only tutor business classes and ESL! I also tutor in most AP classes, including math, literature, college-level writing, and all history classes. I can prep you for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and SAT subject tests. I can also help with college applications and resume writing. Try me - chances are I can help! I approach teaching as a dialogue. It is a give and take. Otherwise, how can you judge mastery of the concepts at hand? Also, a dialogue makes for a more interesting session for both teacher and student.
Most importantly, in the business classes, I will teach you to apply theory to real life. I will teach you how to read financial statements, understand the ever-changing markets and their securities, and become a successful business person on many levels.
