About Lucas
As a guitar tutor with Master’s degrees in Music, I strive to make every lesson fun, engaging, and educational while helping students grow as musicians. I start by teaching the fundamentals—posture, finger placement, chord transitions, strumming, rhythm, and tone control—then gradually introduce improvisation, phrasing, and composition. Music theory is woven into lessons in an accessible way, showing students how it applies to real songs. Each lesson is personalised, keeping the student’s pace, goals, and interests in mind, while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
I emphasise both technical skill and expressive confidence, ensuring students feel comfortable playing in any setting. Ear training, sight-reading, and performance practice are integral parts of my approach. I provide structured practice routines and feedback to support consistent progress. I encourage exploration across genres, from classical and jazz to rock, pop, and blues. I celebrate milestones and motivate students to embrace challenges as opportunities to grow. My teaching blends patience, enthusiasm, and encouragement to keep learning enjoyable. I aim to help students build discipline, perseverance, and a lifelong love of music. Over time, students develop not only technical proficiency but also a strong musical identity and expressive voice. Teaching guitar is my passion, and I love seeing students thrive, create, and connect with their instrument. Each lesson is an adventure in discovery, growth, and artistic fulfilment.

My guitar lessons are structured to bring out both technical skill and musical expression. We start with tuning, chords, and rhythm to build core strength. As you advance, we explore scales, fingerstyle, and improvisation techniques. Each lesson combines practical exercises with real-world music examples. I focus on timing, tone control, and smooth transitions for confident playing.
Students also learn reading tablature and basic music notation. Feedback after every class ensures consistent progress. I personalise lessons to each learner’s pace and interest. With guided practice and clear instruction, challenges become enjoyable. Over time, you’ll gain control, fluency, and creative freedom on the guitar. My approach keeps lessons engaging, structured, and motivating for all levels.
