About Overcoming
Hi, I’m Jamie, a Transition & Executive Functioning Coach who works with teens and young adults preparing for life beyond school. I use a practical method called the Overcoming framework to help students break down overwhelming tasks, reduce friction, and build systems that actually work in real life.
I currently work in a Special Education classroom at Bloomington High School South, which keeps my approach grounded in strategies that support real, day‑to‑day functioning—not just academics. I also bring lived experience navigating learning and organizational challenges, which allows me to work with patience, flexibility, and respect for how different brains operate.
My focus isn’t just finishing tasks—it’s helping students develop the executive functioning skills needed for independence, follow‑through, and confidence moving into adulthood.

I specialize in helping:
Students with Dyslexia, ADHD, autism or other learning differences.
Young adults (14–30) transitioning in the workforce.
Anyone who feels "stuck" and needs a personalized roadmap to get organized.
Sessions focus on identifying what’s actually making something hard, naming patterns without blame, and breaking goals into realistic, manageable steps. I help students use simple tools, work‑arounds, and assistive strategies that fit their real lives—so they’re working with their brain, not against it.
Students leave sessions with clearer direction, practical next steps, and systems that reduce overwhelm instead of adding to it.
