About Florence
I am a passionate and dedicated singing tutor with over 6 years of teaching experience, having taught 150–200 students of all levels, from beginners to advanced performers. My teaching philosophy centres on personalised learning, ensuring every lesson is tailored to the student’s voice, goals, and learning style. I believe that every voice is unique, and I work closely with students to nurture their natural strengths. In my lessons, I focus on vocal techniques, including breath control, pitch accuracy, tone, phrasing, and vocal agility, while also emphasising musical expression, emotional storytelling, and stage presence. I integrate music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, and creative improvisation, providing students with a strong, well-rounded musical foundation. Creativity is central to my methodology, and I encourage students to explore various musical styles, experiment with improvisation, and develop a distinctive, authentic voice. I also guide students in auditions, competitions, recording, and live performance strategies, helping them gain confidence and perform at their best. I design lessons to be structured yet flexible, combining technical exercises, interactive practice, and real-time feedback. I aim to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and learning from them. I focus on building both technical mastery and expressive performance skills, empowering students to become confident, well-rounded singers. My teaching helps students overcome performance anxiety, strengthen musicianship, and develop their artistic identity. I encourage goal-setting, track progress, and celebrate achievements to maintain motivation. I also provide guidance on songwriting, improvisation, and personal style development, helping students explore their creativity fully. I continuously update my knowledge on vocal pedagogy, performance trends, and new musical techniques to provide the highest-quality instruction. My ultimate goal is to empower students to sing with technical skill, expressive artistry, and full confidence, cultivating both their voice and their lifelong passion for music.

Every voice has a story, and my teaching methodology helps students tell theirs with confidence, expression, and skill. Using Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity (MCIC), I create lessons that are engaging, structured, and personalised for each student. I focus on motivation by helping students set clear goals, recognise progress, and maintain confidence throughout the learning process. Communication ensures students feel heard and supported while receiving constructive feedback to improve tone, pitch, breath control, articulation, and overall performance. Integrity provides honesty, discipline, and consistency, establishing a safe and professional learning environment. Creativity encourages students to explore different styles, experiment with melodies, and develop a unique singing voice that expresses their personality and artistry. I also include related subjects such as music theory, rhythm, ear training, and stage presence to provide a comprehensive musical foundation. Each lesson is customised to the student’s skill level, goals, and musical interests, combining structured exercises, guided practice, and interactive performance activities. My methodology develops technical mastery, expressive performance, confidence, and stage readiness. By applying MCIC principles, I guide students to achieve measurable progress, perform with assurance, and cultivate a lifelong passion for music and singing.
