About Fern
With 11 years of experience as a violin tutor, I have taught students from beginner to advanced levels. I have successfully guided around 150 students, supporting them in developing proper technique, musical awareness, and self-confidence. My tutoring approach is structured yet flexible.
I plan lessons carefully but adjust them based on the student’s progress and comfort level. I create a supportive learning space where students feel motivated and focused. My lessons cover posture, bow control, finger placement, intonation, rhythm accuracy, and tone development. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, scales, and ear training to strengthen overall musicianship.
For advanced learners, I work on expressive playing, phrasing, and performance skills. One of my strengths is helping students stay consistent. I guide them in building daily practice routines and understanding how to practice effectively. I explain techniques in simple language and provide clear exercises. Along with violin instruction, I can support students with basic music theory and musicianship. My goal is to make violin learning clear, enjoyable, and rewarding.

My violin teaching methodology is built on adapting to individual learning styles, flexibility in instruction, collaboration, and a positive approach. I believe students learn best when lessons are supportive and customized to their needs.
In violin lessons, I focus on strong fundamentals such as posture, bow grip, finger placement, tuning, tone quality, and rhythm accuracy. I explain techniques in a clear and simple way and demonstrate them carefully. Listening exercises help students improve pitch and sound control.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lessons based on progress. If a student finds a concept difficult, I break it into smaller steps and provide additional exercises. I also include music that students enjoy to keep learning interesting.
Collaboration is encouraged through open communication. I invite students to share their challenges and goals. Positivity is maintained by encouraging effort and celebrating improvement.
Along with violin instruction, I also teach music theory, rhythm practice, sight-reading, ear training, and basic performance skills, helping students grow as complete musicians.
