About Iris
My interest in Excel began with a desire to transform raw data into meaningful, actionable insights, prompting me to pursue a B.Sc in Information Systems followed by an M.Sc in Business Analytics. Over 9 years, I have taught learners across academic and professional contexts, helping them develop practical proficiency, analytical thinking, and confidence in applying Excel to solve real-world challenges. My experience spans data manipulation, visualization, and automation, which informs my clear, structured, and hands-on teaching style.
I focus on patient, stepwise instruction tailored to individual learners. Many students initially feel overwhelmed by formulas, pivot tables, or conditional logic, so I provide step-by-step explanations, guided practice, and contextual examples. I encourage experimentation, independent problem-solving, and iterative learning, ensuring concepts are internalized and retained long term.
Beyond teaching, I stay updated with the latest Excel features, data visualization techniques, and analytical approaches. I integrate these insights into lessons to enhance relevance and engagement. Witnessing students develop confidence, efficiency, and practical problem-solving skills is deeply rewarding. Supporting learners in achieving both technical competence and independence remains the most fulfilling part of my work as an Excel instructor.
