About Kaitlyn
I developed a passion for Excel through years of working with data and understanding its potential to optimise workflows, enhance reporting accuracy, and support decision-making. I earned a B.Sc in Information Technology and an M.Sc in Business Analytics, which provided both foundational knowledge and advanced analytical skills. Over 8 years, I have taught learners of all levels, helping them achieve confidence and proficiency in Excel for academic, professional, and personal applications.
My teaching philosophy emphasises hands-on practice, practical exercises, and applied learning. I encourage experimentation, problem-solving, and interactive exploration, providing structured guidance tailored to each student’s pace and learning style. My goal is to help learners build strong competence, confidence, and independence in using Excel effectively.
Beyond teaching, I stay updated on modern spreadsheet tools, automation techniques, and data analytics trends, integrating these insights into lessons to maintain relevance and practical applicability. Watching learners transform from hesitant users to confident, independent Excel practitioners is deeply rewarding and inspires my continued dedication to teaching this essential skill.

My Excel lessons are designed to provide a thorough and practical understanding of spreadsheet management and data analysis. I cover essential and advanced functions, formulae, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, dashboards, and automation using macros. Lessons are interactive, combining step-by-step demonstrations, applied exercises, and real-world scenarios to ensure students gain confidence, accuracy, and efficiency in handling data. My approach emphasises understanding the “why” behind each function to foster deeper analytical skills and long-term retention.
Beginners focus on basic operations, simple formulae, formatting, and introductory charts. Intermediate learners practise advanced functions, pivot tables, data validation, scenario analysis, and conditional formatting. Advanced learners explore macros, dashboard building, automation, data modelling, and integrating Excel with other business or analytics tools. Each session integrates hands-on exercises, guided problem-solving, and applied scenarios to strengthen comprehension, practical application, and skill mastery.
Excel education enhances logical reasoning, structured thinking, and data interpretation abilities. Students learn to analyse trends, generate insights, and communicate results effectively while developing confidence in applying their skills across professional, academic, and personal contexts.
