About Sam
As a high-achieving high school senior, I have taken a myriad of AP courses across STEM fields, including Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and advanced Mathematics. I have scored a 5 on all my AP exams, demonstrating a strong grasp of college-level material, and I’m currently enrolled in multiple undergraduate-level math and engineering courses.
Beyond academics, I believe the best way to learn is by teaching. Tutoring allows me to explore new perspectives, refine my problem-solving skills, and connect with students in meaningful ways. Having recently taken these exams, I am well-suited to guide students through challenging concepts with up-to-date insights and effective strategies.

As an experienced tutor, I believe in a student-centered approach to learning. My goal is to help students develop a deep understanding of the subject matter and build the skills they need to succeed. Here are some of the strategies I use:
Questioning: I encourage my students to think critically by asking them questions instead of giving them information. This helps them develop their problem-solving skills and become more confident learners.
The Socratic Method: I use this form of instruction to guide students towards new ideas with directed questioning based on their current level of understanding of a subject.
Drills: I use drills to help students memorize important concepts and formulas.
Alternation: I alternate roles with my tutees, letting them tutor me. This is especially useful for a class that features essay exams, where a tutee will need to explain things in a thorough, coherent manner.
