About Julien
With 7 years of experience teaching ESL, I work closely with school and college students to help them develop strong communication skills, academic confidence, and a clear understanding of English. My teaching style is interactive, structured, and designed to meet the needs of learners at different proficiency levels.
I emphasise communication as the core of language learning. Speaking activities include guided dialogues, pronunciation practice, interviews, discussions, and scenario-based tasks. These help students build fluency and reduce hesitation. Listening practice involves audio comprehension, video learning, note-taking, and response exercises that improve accuracy and confidence.
In reading and writing, I use a detailed and supportive approach. Students learn reading strategies, vocabulary techniques, grammar foundations, and sentence-building skills. Writing lessons focus on paragraph structure, essay organisation, creative tasks, and guided corrections that develop clarity and expression.
Technology enriches every lesson. I use digital worksheets, interactive quizzes, video content, and visual explanations to create a vibrant and engaging learning environment.
I personalise learning plans to match the student’s goals—whether they want to excel academically, prepare for exams, improve spoken English, or build writing skills. I maintain a warm and encouraging atmosphere where students feel safe to learn, speak, and take risks without fear of mistakes.

My ESL teaching methodology combines Accountability, Integrity, Flexibility, Communication, and Positivity to create a balanced and effective learning experience. Accountability begins with helping students identify their learning goals—spoken fluency, writing clarity, exam preparation, or vocabulary mastery. We develop step-by-step routines that help them stay consistent and track their progress through structured assignments.
Integrity shapes the way I teach and correct. I offer direct, accurate feedback while maintaining a supportive tone. Each correction, whether in grammar, pronunciation, or writing, is explained in a simple and meaningful way so students can easily understand and apply the changes.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lessons to meet the needs of different learners. Some may need extra support in speaking, while others focus on academic writing or comprehension. I use a blend of grammar drills, real-life dialogues, listening tasks, reading activities, and writing practice tailored to the student’s goals.
Communication is emphasised through regular conversational practice. Students learn to express ideas, share opinions, and participate in structured discussions that develop fluency and reduce hesitation. This interactive approach helps learners become confident speakers.
Positivity creates a safe, uplifting environment. I motivate students by acknowledging their strengths, celebrating milestones, and helping them stay confident even during challenging lessons. In addition to ESL, I teach Grammar Skills, Writing Development, Reading Comprehension, and Vocabulary Enhancement.
