About Eleanor
My main interest is Environmental Science, with a particular focus on natural disasters. Geography has been my passion since I first used to sit and read Atlas’s as a child. I believe Geography is a very important subject, as it encompasses a huge breadth of knowledge, e.g. GIS, mapping, sustainability, natural disasters, geopolitics, geology, governance, economics and more.
I also have a passion for History. I studied History up to A level and enjoyed it immensely, in particular English History, the Cold War and Nazi Germany.

I teach using a range of creative and interactive methods to keep students engaged and stimulate their memory e.g. quizzes, map skills, practice questions, trivia, videos etc. I believe open discussions are fundamental for learning in depth knowledge, rather than a one sided conversation. A typical lesson with me is an hour long, although if you have a different preference regarding lesson length I am able to work with this. I successfully gained qualifications in A level Geography, A level History, A level English and the EPQ, with grades A*s to A. I also gained 9 GCSEs at levels A* to B. I have experience working around children and young people and am willing to get an enhanced DBS check should that be necessary.
