About Nuria
Hi! I’m Nuria, a private tutor with a PhD in Microbiology and over three years of experience as a university lecturer. This has given me experience teaching a variety of scientific subjects—from GCSE and A-level science (maths and biology) to microbiology and lab practice. My greatest passion lies in making science fun and accessible for everyone. I offer you highly structured lessons tailored to your needs, while fuelling your interest and giving you techniques to improve your learning.
Having gone through demanding studies myself, I understand the challenges students face. That's why I aim to make learning less stressful and more meaningful!
I hold a BSc in Biochemistry, where I immersed myself in the intricate mechanisms of life and the human body. After graduating with top marks, I specialised in Biotechnology in my MSc and secured a very competitive contract to pursue my PhD in microbiology. This gave me the opportunity to teach at the university for several years, preparing students for highly technical subjects. During my studies, I never gave up on my passion for teaching and continued tutoring students in my free time.

In our first free lesson, I will understand your specific requirements to design a fully personalised plan that makes you achieve your goals. My lessons are highly interactive, integrating diverse learning material (audio, video, games...). This will allow you to integrate the content, making learning a smooth process without relying on pure memory.
To improve the student experience, I use a digital whiteboard that resembles the real-life teaching. The material prepared for the lessons will be available for the student at any time.
I'm also available for quick support via messaging between lessons if you get stuck or need clarification.
I work with students of all ages: from GCSE and A-level to adult learners and professionals. I offer support in:
✦Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths
✦Languages: Spanish for foreigners
✦Academic support: Exam preparation (GCSE, A-level), revision strategies, and confidence-building
