About Olivia
I am a Native English speaker who aspires to work as ESL teacher overseas one day.
I am qualified with CELTA equivalent certificate and have been teaching English (academic and ESL) for 3 years since 2019. As such, I've taught many people ranging from high school, to senior students and am always attentive to different people's various goals.
Teaching ESL is more of a passion than a job for me. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my student's flourish and grow with confidence. Every lesson is an experience, and every student is valuable.

Firstly, I need to be familar with my student's needs, so I assess their level of knowledge and skill in the first lesson usually through giving mock tests, conducting casual interviews, or simply monitoring their progress in activities.
I make my classes based on how well they can complete tasks, and I design activities that focus on productive skills such as speaking and writing. Feedback on student's production is the key to pushing them forward.
In terms of informal assessments, I usually set homework tasks for students at the end of the day which focuses on areas that they need to improve on. Once every few weeks, I give informal formative tests.
