About Emily
I am a bubbly, enthusiastic student, soon to graduate with an English degree from Loughborough University. I have tutored 23 students so far, between the ages of 10 and 18, and have experience offering both group and individual sessions. I am about to start a Master's in Modern English and intend to complete a PhD in order to become a lecturer of contemporary literature.

I don't say no. I ask why.
I teach my students that literature is inextricably subjective, thus their point is never wrong if it is well argued.
I start by focusing on structure and essay technique, in order to avoid unnecessary description and enhance effective analysis.
Once this is achieved, I produce accomplished readings of texts by encouraging students to search for multiple interpretations.
I encourage fun discussions and performative elements among young students, to maintain engagement with difficult texts.
