About Emily
Hello my name is Emily, I have been a Primary school teacher for 5 years now. I have worked across KS2 with most of my experience being in Year 4 and 5. I have a solid understanding of both Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 curriculum as well as experience teaching and supporting children in KS1 especially through phonics screenings and during SATS preperation. Before becoming a teacher, I have worked voluntarily with children with Special needs as a respite carer and as an assistant in a special needs classroom, as well as working as a teaching assistant and an individual learning support assistant with a range of children with varying needs. I have consistently been graded as good or outstanding in my teaching and believe this is mainly down to the fantastic relationships I am able to form with my class and the young people I work with.
I like to make my lessons engaging and ensure they suit all types of learning and children by ensuring fun is a factor in each lesson. I am very creative so will work out a way to make any topic interesting or different. I really enjoy helping children to succeed and find a sense of pride and self motivation.
At home,I am a single mother to a fantastic 10 year old boy who enjoys learning practically and helps me develop my skills at home. . I am looking to support us even more so financially by doing something I am incredibly passionate about at all times.
