About Tomas
Hello! My name is Tomas and I am currently finishing off my PhD while living in rainy Glasgow. For over a decade I've been passionate about tutoring and helping students in need of guidance or support take the extra steps needed to become truly comfortable in their subjects.
I've spent the last decade in the higher education system and have myself encountered both great and awful teachers who have helped me understand how students want to taught - on a case by case basis.
My focus is to find the specific way that helps you learn best, something that often can't be achieved in a class of 30 students, whilst also ensuring that the process doesn't pile any additional stress onto what I remember being a very demanding time of my life!

I approach tutoring from a collaborative viewpoint, working out with you how you want to approach the sessions. Often we will determine what your initial level of understanding is in the subject and then build up with blocks of knowledge from there.
My lessons can range from 30-60 minutes depending on your requirements.
I completed my BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of Manchester, my Masters in Ecology and Evolution from Imperial College London, and I'm currently in the final year of my Molecular Microbiology PhD from the University of East Anglia. I also spent a year teaching biology at a Birmingham based sixth form college.
Throughout these qualifications I also tutored students from 10-18 years old in sciences, maths and geography. Topics of which I am very passionate about.
