About Justinas
I am currently a year 13 A level student studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I am predicted A*AA for my A levels. At GCSE, I achieved three 9's, one 8, five 7's and one 6. I have tutored GCSE students in my own time and as a tutor on Student2student. I believe my results show that I am an extremely hard-working student and capable of tutoring in these subjects at secondary and primary level.

I use Zoom because of its interactivity, an online whiteboard, loom videos and google platforms for homework.
๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฆ:
In my opinion, the best way to teach a new topic in Maths is to begin with examples ranging from easy at the start to hard at the end with at each stage just complicating the technique required or adding an extra step. The student will then complete a question after the example and will try to explain it to me (I believe explaining the steps will help understand the reasons for what they are doing); if the student makes a mistake, I will try to make amends by hinting towards the problem - maybe by questioning a calculation and allowing the student to repeat the step. Over time, the questions will become second nature and no help will be required.
A large mistake made by students when revising for the sciences is that they focus all of their time into memorising plain facts and processes. Where this is obviously still important to achieving a high grade, top marks will only be gained when the student can interlink their topics and apply their knowledge into an exam format where keywords are used and clear points are made.
When learning a topic, it has been proven that active recall is one of the most effective ways of memorising something well and that's why, in my lessons, I like to question the students thought processes, ask questions, truly understand the theory behind topics and frequently let the student recall information back to me as if they were teaching me.
After the topic has been learnt, it is extremely useful to go over a large range of questions from 1 marker to 6 markers that cover all areas of the topic to learn what the exam board wants and ensure you will get the marks in the paper.

Also, targeting the students best learning method will make the process more efficient as the content will be retained better. From visual to auditory learners, I can adapt and change my approach. For example, outside of the designated hours set for tutoring, I have found making online videos is perfect for visual learners as I can go through questions on an online whiteboard. The online videos are also very beneficial to reference back to in future revision
Finally, the most important thing I strive for is to make my lessons fun and an open space to ask questions.
Feel free to message me any questions you may have.
