About Laverne
Hello my name is Laverne and I am from South Africa. I have a TEFL certificate and 4 years experience. I taught at one of South Africa’s public schools instilling confidence in students by making them excel in the language. I have also taught on Berlitz and Preply online platforms. I am a fun tutor but strict only when needed. I’m a dedicated English tutor passionate about helping students improve their language skills. In my free time I enjoy poetry and baking.

As an English tutor, I design engaging and interactive lessons that cater to the diverse needs of my students. My approach combines grammar, pronunciation, fluency, and vocabulary building through a variety of activities. We will engage in reading and listening exercises to improve comprehension and critical thinking skills. To foster practical language use, we will participate in role-playing everyday life situations and play interactive games that encourage spontaneous conversation and creativity. By incorporating these diverse elements, my goal is to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feel motivated to practice and improve their English skills.
