About Laura
I am a passionate and committed educator with a deep understanding of pedagogy. I specialise in English and the Social Sciences and bring my knowledge and experience in these areas to the tutoring relationship.
When not tutoring, I work part time as a lecturer in Education at the University of London. I teach on MA programmes in Children’s and Young Adult’s Literature and in Sociology. I work with undergraduate students and supervise doctoral students. I teach students in lectures and seminars but also support students individually via tutorials and supervisions. I have supported trainee teachers to develop creative literacy practices in their classrooms.
I will help you to find your love for the subject you are studying, whatever your age and level.

I take a student centred approach, tuning into where learners are at to support them to progress. I create a safe and supportive pedagogic relationship. I am good humoured, patient and kind.
Tutoring sessions last 1 to 2 hours. Length depends on age, level and needs of the student.
I have 20 years experience as a teacher and tutor. I have worked with primary, secondary and undergraduate students. I have a first class degree in English Studies; Qualified Teacher Status and a PhD in Education.
I offer tuition to primary, KS3, GCSE and A Level students.
