About Zeta
I am an experienced teacher and have been teaching English for seven years across two very different schools in Worthing. I also have a first class degree in English Literature and a PGCE degree in Secondary Education.
I currently teach mixed ability classes as well as top sets and my high results are evidence of my ability to adapt my teaching in order to help pupils progress, no matter their starting point.
My past 4+ results have been strong, with above 90% of my pupils achieving the standard pass rate. The last few years have proven very successful with 100% pass rates from two of my classes. Before lockdown, I took over two classes with low pass rates (20-30% expected to pass) - 5 months after I had taken these classes over the pass rates had increased to between 75% and 84%, which hopefully proves the positive impact I could have on your child`s learning. My class` results are well above the national average and I credit my ability to differentiate and come up with specific strategies for pupils to use when tackling difficult English tasks.
I have an extensive knowledge of two exam boards - AQA and Eduqas (WJEC) - due to years of teaching and exam marking.

Analytical writing, inference skills and creative writing are key throughout English lessons and I have developed many techniques which help pupils` confidence and independence improve in this area.
I will liaise with you about the texts/skills you (or your child) need support with and tailor my strategies based on your (or your child's) areas of weakness.
Past and current pupils have said that they now enjoy and understand English lessons more due to my friendly, patient and supportive approach.
I am able to adapt my teaching methods to suit a range of pupils with varied needs so please feel free to contact me no matter your child`s specific needs or barriers to learning.
