About Eleanor

As a linguist myself, I have studied Spanish, German and Chinese and I understand how difficult it can be to build up the confidence to have a conversation. I also know that language classes are often too big for everyone to have a chance to speak, despite this being arguably the most important aspect of any language. I'd like to offer students a chance to practise their English one on one in an environment in which they feel comfortable stretching themselves and in which they can enjoy learning English. Languages are a means of communicating with others and they should be fun! I'd like to help students develop a tool they can use to travel, learn about other places and talk to new people with a smile on their face!

About the lesson

My qualifications: I am a qualified TEFL teacher and have experience teaching students from beginner through to high IELTS/TOEFL level. Personalised learning: I tailor my lessons to suit the needs of my students, whether you are preparing for an exam or want to improve your communication skills in day-to-day scenarios. Grammar and vocabulary in context: We will build a vocabulary bank over the course of our lessons based on the words you have learnt. I will always include the context, sentence or discussion in which you learnt these words. This will enable you to build links between words, greatly improving your ability to recall and use them in the future. Confidence and communication: The most important part of speaking any language is confidence. I will always encourage students and provide a comfortable learning environment for students to do their best and make mistakes - the best way to learn!
