About Joel
I used to work in a school teaching children with disabilities and children with difficult domestic lives. I decided to move to Rio de Janeiro and did a CELTS course to teach English as a way to stay in the wonderful city of rio de janeiro. I am also a musician who plays guitar and bass in various styles. I teach English and can help improve your English, according to your needs. I am willing to travel to you or to meet you at my home to give individual lessons. Any level of English is welcome! I currently live in the Copacabana area of the river, but I am willing to travel to you.

My teaching method is a relaxed approach and can be adjusted to fit your needs and learning style. During the first class, we can discuss what you would like to learn and what you expect from me as a teacher. From there we can work out an approach that is more appropriate to your needs. We can use a variety of methods to help you maintain and learn English in an affective way. For example, with flash cards or just talking about different topics.
